Te mapa
Mīāneh lies in East Azerbaijan province in north-western Iran, in a valley on the Qezel Ozan river, about halfway between Tabriz and Zanjan. The name itself means middle in Persian, which fits its position. The surrounding land is high and dry, and folded ridges close in around the valley floor.
The town's streets spread across the flatter ground near the river, with the older quarters forming a denser core. The main road and the Tehran–Tabriz railway run through the valley. They pass the Qaflankuh range, a mountain gap that has carried travellers between the plateau and the north-west for centuries.
A Mīāneh map poster is really about terrain: a green river corridor, a compact town and the steep country pressing in on both sides. Nearby, the historic Pol-e Dokhtar bridge crosses the Qezel Ozan, one of several old crossings along this route.
The river gives the town its setting. Its channel and floodplain form a gentle curve through the otherwise dry, hilly landscape.
Just outside town, road and railway thread through the Qaflankuh mountains, a historic gateway on the route between Tehran and Tabriz.
The older part of town is a close-knit network of streets. Newer blocks spread out towards the river and the valley roads.

Koteā ko Mīāneh
For families from Mīāneh, the town is a waypoint on countless journeys between Tehran and Tabriz, and also a home. A map holds both meanings: the crossroads and the streets someone knows by heart.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line, in Latin or native script if you wish, and choose from five styles. Sand and Paper suit the dry highland tones, and Noir gives a stark, graphic finish.
