Te mapa
Minamisatsuma occupies the southwestern part of the Satsuma Peninsula in Kagoshima Prefecture. On the map, the city is defined by the East China Sea. In the north, the smooth arc of Fukiage-hama, one of the longest sandy beaches in Japan, runs along the coast. Farther south, the shoreline breaks into rocky headlands, inlets and small harbours.
Inland, the town of Kaseda sits along its river, with farmland and wooded hills beyond. At the southern tip, Bōnotsu was historically an important port for trade with China and the Ryukyu Kingdom. Its small, sheltered harbour and narrow streets still reflect that past, set against steep green slopes.
A Minamisatsuma map poster works as a portrait of a coastline. It moves from long, calm beach to jagged southern shore, with settlements tucked into valleys and harbours along the way. In black and white, the contrast between the smooth sand and the broken coast forms a striking composition.

A small, sheltered port at the southern end of the peninsula, Bōnotsu was historically a key gateway for trade with China and the Ryukyu Kingdom.
Kaseda, the city's main inland centre, follows a river toward the coast. Its compact streets are surrounded by fields and low wooded hills.
