Te mapa
Mīt Abū Ghālib is in Damietta Governorate, in the northeastern Nile Delta, close to where the Damietta branch of the Nile reaches the Mediterranean. The land here is completely flat and heavily farmed. From above, the town is a dense cluster of houses along the river, surrounded by long, narrow fields.
The map is shaped by water. The Nile branch forms a broad band along one side, and smaller canals and drains branch out from it through the farmland, each one lined with a path or road. The town's streets are close together and irregular, typical of old delta villages that grew into larger towns.
A Mīt Abū Ghālib map poster shows the intensely worked delta landscape: river, canals, strip fields and a compact settlement at their centre. It's a very personal print, most meaningful to people who were born there or whose families still farm nearby.
The eastern branch of the Nile runs past the town. It's the widest and strongest line on the map, and the rest of the town is oriented toward it.
Irrigation canals and drains spread from the river across the fields. They divide the land into long parcels, and in the Blueprint style they look almost like an engineering drawing.
The older part of town is a close cluster of narrow lanes. It shows up as a dark, detailed shape against the open farmland.

Koteā ko Mīt Abū Ghālib
For families from Damietta who now live elsewhere in Egypt or abroad, this map is a way to keep the home town nearby. It's a reminder of the river and the fields, shown without sentimentality.
Write a title in any wording you like, add a family name or year, and set the coordinates. The five styles are Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. Noir works well if you want the river to be the focus.
