Te mapa
Möng Yawng is a town in the far east of Shan State, Myanmar, in hill country not far from the borders with Laos and Thailand. It occupies a flat valley floor, the kind of basin that in the Shan highlands has long been used for wet-rice farming, surrounded on all sides by rising, wooded ground.
On a map, the town appears as a modest network of streets and lanes with houses spread along the main roads, giving way quickly to paddy fields divided into small irregular plots. Streams run down from the hills and cross the valley, and roads climb out of the basin by following the contours.
Because the place is small and little documented in English, a Möng Yawng map poster is mostly about landform: the compact settlement, the flat fields and the way the surrounding slopes close off the view. It is a quiet, personal map, best suited to people who know the town first-hand.
The flat basin around the town is the clearest shape on the map, its fields and water channels contrasting with the empty, steeper ground beyond.
A small network of roads and lanes marks the settled centre, with buildings following the main routes out toward nearby villages.
Roads leaving Möng Yawng bend and switch back as they climb into the surrounding hills, drawing loose curves across the edges of the print.

Koteā ko Möng Yawng
People from Möng Yawng, and those who have lived or worked in eastern Shan State, rarely find the town on printed maps or souvenirs. A poster of its streets and valley gives it a place on the wall, drawn with the same care as any capital city.
Set your own title and subtitle, perhaps in the spelling your family uses, and keep or edit the coordinates. Choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand, as a digital HD file for $9 or as a printed poster with an optional wooden frame.
