Te mapa
Montilla sits on a cluster of low hills in the southern part of Córdoba province, between the Guadalquivir valley and the Subbética ranges. From above, the old core gathers around the highest ground, where the ruins of a castle once stood, and the streets fall away in curving lines that follow the slope. Newer blocks spread outward along the roads that leave town for the surrounding countryside.
The town gives its name to the Montilla-Moriles wine denomination, known for wines in the fino style, often made without fortification and largely from Pedro Ximénez grapes. That farming identity shows plainly on a map: beyond the last houses, the land breaks into field boundaries, farm tracks and scattered farmhouses. The pattern reads almost like a second street plan drawn in finer ink.
Montilla is also remembered as the birthplace of Gonzalo Fernández de Córdoba, the military commander known as El Gran Capitán. A Montilla map poster keeps the essentials: the tight knot of the historic centre, the looser grid of later neighbourhoods, and the roads striking out across the campiña. In black and white, the contrast between the dense town and the open farmland becomes the whole composition.
The oldest streets crowd the high ground at the centre of town, bending with the contours rather than following a grid, so the map shows a dense, irregular knot at its heart.
Farm parcels and tracks cover the rolling campiña around the town, a reminder that Montilla lends its name to one of Andalusia's recognised wine regions.
Country roads leave Montilla in several directions toward neighbouring towns, giving the composition clear lines that pull the eye from the edges of the print back to the centre.

Koteā ko Montilla
For anyone with ties to Córdoba province, or a fondness for its wine, this is a quiet way to keep the town close. The map balances a dense centre against open fields, which suits a kitchen, a dining room or a study wall.
