Te mapa
Dos Hermanas lies just south of Seville on the level farmland of the lower Guadalquivir. It has grown into one of the most populous towns in Andalusia that is not a provincial capital. The map shows a traditional centre of narrow, irregular streets around the main church and squares, with larger modern blocks spreading out in every direction.
The railway line to Cádiz runs past the centre, and major roads link the town north to Seville. Outlying districts such as Montequinto, closer to the city, form clusters of their own. A Dos Hermanas map poster therefore shows a town that has become several connected pieces, with open land and new developments filling the gaps between them.
The name comes from a local legend of two sisters said to have found a hidden image of Saint Anne. The town has long been associated with olives, especially table olives processed here for export. The flat fields and orchards around it give the edges of the map a calm, open texture.
Around the main parish church, a tight web of old streets and small squares marks the original town, distinct from the broader blocks and avenues of later growth.
The line between Seville and Cádiz passes through the town as a long, steady stroke, and it has shaped where industry and new neighbourhoods settled.
Closer to Seville, Montequinto forms a separate residential cluster with its own street pattern, linked to the city by metro and to the old centre by road.

Dos Hermanas is home to many people who work in Seville but live just outside it, and to families who have been here for generations. A map of the town captures its layered growth, from the old core to the new edges.
