Cádiz reads on a map almost like an island. The old city fills the end of a narrow strip of land between the Atlantic and the Bay of Cádiz, and a long, thin isthmus lined with beach connects it to the mainland. Few European cities have an outline this distinctive. On a poster the shape alone is enough to recognise it.
Inside the old sea walls, the streets form a close, irregular mesh of narrow lanes opening onto small squares. Stone ramparts and bastions follow the shoreline, and the cathedral stands near the southern waterfront. Founded by Phoenicians as Gadir, Cádiz is often called one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in Western Europe.
A Cadiz map poster also shows the modern city: newer districts along the isthmus, Playa de la Victoria on the Atlantic side, and the long bridge across the bay named after the Constitution of 1812, which was drafted here. The combination of dense old core, straight coastal avenue and open water makes a strong composition.

A narrow strip of land carries the city south toward San Fernando, with a long straight beach on its ocean side.
The Constitution of 1812 bridge crosses the Bay of Cádiz in a long line, connecting the city to the mainland across open water.

Koteā ko Cadiz
Cádiz stays with people: a summer at La Caleta, a year studying in Andalusia, a family from the province. Its sea-bound outline makes a poster that works even for people who have never been there.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line, and choose from five styles. Blueprint and Noir suit the maritime shape especially well. Digital files include six sizes up to 24×36″. Printed posters on matte paper, with an optional wooden frame, are shipped from partners in 30+ countries.
