Highway corridor
The road toward Recife and the interior is the backbone of the map. Streets branch from it on both sides, and it gives the composition a clear direction across the sheet.

Te mapa
Moreno lies west of Recife in the state of Pernambuco. It belongs to the metropolitan area but stands clearly apart from the coastal city on the map. The town forms a compact cluster, and beyond it the street grid quickly thins into rural roads, patches of forest and farmland. The contrast between a dense centre and open surroundings is the first thing the eye picks up.
The main highway between Recife and the interior of Pernambuco passes by the town, and much of Moreno's shape follows that corridor, with neighbourhoods strung along its approaches. The land around it rolls gently, and streams and small valleys interrupt the street pattern, so blocks bend and step instead of forming a regular chequerboard across the ground.
The zona da mata around Moreno has long been shaped by sugarcane farming, and remnants of Atlantic Forest still mark the hills. A Moreno map poster shows this edge-of-the-metropolis character simply: a tight town centre, the long line of the highway, and the softer pattern of fields and water around it. The same careful line weight is used throughout.
The road toward Recife and the interior is the backbone of the map. Streets branch from it on both sides, and it gives the composition a clear direction across the sheet.
The older blocks sit closest together at the heart of town, forming the densest cluster on the map. It reads as a dark knot against the lighter, more scattered outskirts.
Hills, streams and remaining forest keep the edges of the map open. The line work thins out here, leaving generous empty space around the town.
