Mushābani Map Poster & Print
Mushābani, also written Mosabani, lies in East Singhbhum district in the southeast of Jharkhand, not far from Jamshedpur. From above, the town is less a single centre than a set of separate areas. Residential colonies, the market and the mine sites are connected by roads that wind through low hills and patches of forest.
Copper made the town. The Mosabani mines have been worked for many decades and form part of the Singhbhum copper belt, one of India's important mineral regions. The colonies built for mine workers have an orderly layout, and they sit in noticeable contrast to the more organic market streets and villages nearby.
A Mushābani map poster shows that mixture of industrial planning and landscape. The regular blocks of the colonies, the curving roads and the forested ridges together make a textured composition. It is a map for people who know the town through its work and its community.
