Nyborg Map Poster & Print
Nyborg lies on the east coast of Funen, facing the Great Belt, the strait that separates the island from Zealand. From above the town has a clear structure: a compact old centre by the harbour, the remains of ramparts and moats around it, and newer districts spreading inland in a looser pattern. The coastline and the water beyond it fill much of the frame.
Nyborg Castle is one of the oldest royal castles in Denmark, and for centuries the Danehof, an early national assembly, met here. The castle and its surviving fortifications still shape the town's centre on a map.
