Oba Map Poster & Print
Oba lies on the Antalya coast directly east of central Alanya, and its map is drawn by two forces: the straight line of the Mediterranean shore and the rising ground of the Taurus foothills behind it. Between them, a fairly regular grid of residential streets fills the narrow coastal plain, with the main coastal road running parallel to the beach.
A small river valley descends from the hills towards the sea, and the built-up area thins out as the slopes steepen, giving way to looser roads that zigzag uphill. Much of the housing is recent, so the street pattern looks more planned than in older Turkish towns, with long blocks set at right angles to the shore.
An Oba map poster shows this in clean black lines: sea on one side, hills on the other, and a tidy band of streets in between. Many people from abroad have settled here in recent decades, and for them the map is a direct picture of the place they chose to live.
