Te mapa
Silifke lies in the west of Mersin province, a short distance inland from the Mediterranean, where the Göksu river emerges from the Taurus Mountains and crosses a flat plain toward its delta. The town is built on both banks, with a stone bridge linking them and streets spreading out from the river into orchards and fields. Above it, a medieval castle crowns a steep hill.
In antiquity this was Seleucia on the Calycadnus, founded by Seleucus I, and a single standing column of its Roman temple still rises among modern buildings. The river has a darker footnote in European history: in 1190 the German emperor Frederick Barbarossa drowned in the Göksu while leading the Third Crusade, and a memorial marks the spot upstream of the town.
A Silifke map poster centres on the river. The Göksu cuts across the frame, the bridge is a small clear stitch over it, and the streets of the town give way to the slopes of the castle hill and the wider delta land toward the coast. It suits travellers who stopped here on the coastal road, and people from the town itself.
The ancient Calycadnus flows through the town in a broad, gently curving line, the dominant feature of the map before it spreads into a delta at the sea.
A steep hill above the town carries the medieval castle; the streets stop at its slopes, leaving a clear empty space that marks the height.
A stone bridge with Roman origins crosses the Göksu in the town centre, a short, firm line that ties the two banks together.

Koteā ko Silifke
Silifke rewards people who like layered places: a Hellenistic foundation, a crusader story, a working market town. On paper the river and the hill do most of the work, producing a composition that is simple yet unmistakably specific.
Give the poster your own title and subtitle, keep the coordinates, and try the five styles in the free preview. Blueprint emphasises the river's line; Sand suits the Mediterranean light. Buy the HD files for $9 or order a print from partners in over 30 countries.
