Te mapa
Ōbu lies on the low ground just south of Nagoya, at the base of the Chita Peninsula. Its map is a dense mix of residential streets, small fields and industrial plots, crossed by major transport lines. The Tōkaidō Main Line runs through the city, and Ōbu Station is the junction where the Taketoyo Line splits off south toward the peninsula.
Expressways and national roads add long diagonal lines to the pattern, and irrigation ponds, a common feature of this part of Aichi, show up as small blue shapes between neighbourhoods. The city is home to Japan's national research centre for geriatrics and gerontology, and it promotes itself as a town focused on health and long life.
An Ōbu map poster turns this busy suburban pattern into a clean composition. The rail junction sits near the centre, roads radiate outward, and the ponds and green plots break up the density. It is a detailed, finely textured plan that suits a close, careful look.
Ōbu Station is where the Taketoyo Line leaves the Tōkaidō Main Line, a clear fork in the rail network that anchors the centre of the map.
Small reservoirs, typical of the Chita area, are scattered through the city and read as irregular water shapes among the streets.
Wide motorway corridors cut across the fine residential grid, dividing the city into distinct sectors between Nagoya and the peninsula.

Koteā ko Ōbu
Ōbu is home for many people who work in Nagoya or in Aichi's industries, and a map of it marks a place of daily life, not a tourist view. It suits a first home, a family house or a long posting in the region.
Add a personal title, a subtitle with a date and your own coordinates line. The design is available in five styles, Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand, as instant HD files or a shipped print.
