Ozar lies in Nashik district, Maharashtra, on flat farmland north-east of the city of Nashik. From above, it is a compact settlement of irregular lanes and newer residential blocks. Around it spreads a patchwork of fields and vineyards across the plain, broken up by rural roads and small watercourses.
What makes the map distinctive is the aviation complex next door. A long runway and a large fenced campus of hangars, workshops and staff housing sit beside the town. Their straight, planned lines contrast with the organic street pattern of the older settlement. The Ozar map poster shows both side by side, giving a small town an unexpectedly bold geometry.
Hindustan Aeronautics Limited has run an aircraft manufacturing division at Ozar since the 1960s. It was set up to build MiG-21 fighters under licence, and the site is also an Indian Air Force station. The same runway now serves Nashik's civil airport. In the countryside around the town, grape growing is a major part of the local economy.
