Te mapa
Palmers Green is a suburb in the London Borough of Enfield, and most of it grew quickly in the early twentieth century once the railway arrived. From above, it is a dense and regular pattern of terraced streets, with long parallel roads of similar houses laid out between a few main routes.
Green Lanes, an old road running north from the city, forms the commercial spine. The North Circular Road cuts across the southern side of the area. Broomfield Park, with its lakes and the remains of an old manor house, gives the map a large green opening to the north-west. The neighbourhood is known for its large Greek Cypriot community.
A Palmers Green map poster shows the neat rhythm of Edwardian suburbia. There are rows of terraces, the diagonal of the high street and the broad curve of the arterial road. The poet Stevie Smith lived here for most of her life, and she would recognise the streets on this map.
The long historic road runs north through the centre, lined with shops and cafés, and holds the whole grid of side streets together.
A generous green space with ornamental lakes breaks up the terraces, a large open shape among the tight residential blocks.
London's orbital arterial road cuts a wide, smooth curve across the southern edge, clearly distinct from the older suburban streets around it.

London maps usually show the centre, but most Londoners actually live in places like Palmers Green. This poster marks the local streets, park and high street that make up real daily life.
You can set the title, subtitle and coordinates, perhaps a family address or wedding date, and choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand.
