Te mapa
Parit Raja lies in the Batu Pahat district of Johor, on the low coastal plain of southwestern Peninsular Malaysia. Parit means a drainage ditch or canal, and the name suits the landscape. Straight channels cut across flat ground to drain plantations and fields, and many roads run beside them. From above, the area looks distinctly ruled and linear.
The town is best known as the home of Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia, whose main campus brings thousands of students to what was once a small rural settlement. Rows of shophouses, housing estates and plantations meet around it, and the main road between Batu Pahat and Ayer Hitam ties the whole area together.
A Parit Raja map poster shows a place organised around water management and study. Parallel channels, the long straight main road, the curving drives and buildings of the university grounds and the regular grid of newer housing give the print an almost diagrammatic clarity.

The UTHM campus occupies a large part of the map. Its curved roads, open fields and large buildings set it apart from the surrounding town.
A long, straight road runs through Parit Raja towards Batu Pahat and Ayer Hitam. Shops and housing line it, forming the town's main axis.
