Te mapa
Pico is the second-largest island of the Azores, stretching east to west across the mid-Atlantic. From above, its shape is defined by volcanoes: a single broad cone rises at the western end, while a ridge of smaller cones runs east toward the tip. Roads follow the coast almost all the way around, and villages sit on lava shelves close to the sea.
Mount Pico reaches 2,351 metres, the highest point in Portugal, and its slopes dominate every map of the island. On the lower ground, especially around Madalena in the west, a dense mesh of stone walls encloses small vineyards on black basalt, a landscape inscribed by UNESCO. Across a narrow channel, Faial sits within sight of the harbour.
Pico was long a whaling island, with lookouts along the coast, and a museum at Lajes do Pico on the south shore now tells that story. The same waters are known today for whale watching. A Pico Island map poster shows the balance between the empty volcanic heights and the coastal ring of towns, vineyards and small harbours.
The volcano rises at the western end of the island, a near-perfect cone with no roads on its upper slopes. On the poster its mass leaves a clean, open space among the coastal detail.
The main town faces Faial across a narrow channel on the west coast. Ferries cross between the two islands, and the harbour anchors the densest grid of streets.
Near the west coast, a fine mesh of basalt walls divides small vineyard plots. Seen from above, it forms an unusually intricate pattern on the island's lower slopes.

Koteā ko Pico Island
Pico is an island of climbers, whale watchers and wine lovers, and its silhouette is instantly recognisable. A poster of the whole island works as a record of a summit, a sailing crossing or a family link to the Azores.
Personalise the title and subtitle, perhaps with a climb date or the name of a village, and edit the coordinates line. Choose from Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand, as $9 HD files or a printed poster.
