Te mapa
Pilar is a municipality in the province of Bataan, on the eastern side of the Bataan Peninsula in Central Luzon. It stretches from the coast of Manila Bay inland toward Mount Samat. On a map, the settled areas cluster near the coast and along the main road, and the land rises to the west toward the forested mountain.
Mount Samat is home to the Dambana ng Kagitingan, or Shrine of Valor, which honours the Filipino and American soldiers who fought in the Battle of Bataan in 1942. Its tall memorial cross stands on the summit and can be seen from much of the surrounding area. The shrine makes Pilar a place of national remembrance.
Nearer the shore, the town's streets form a compact centre, with farmland and low-lying coastal land along the bay and small streams running down from the hills. A Pilar map poster captures both sides of the town, each with its own texture: the coastal settlement and the slopes climbing toward the memorial.
The mountain rises west of the town centre, and a road winds up its slopes to the Shrine of Valor on the summit.
The eastern edge of Pilar meets Manila Bay, and the coastline forms a long, clear boundary with low-lying land beside the water.
Small rivers and streams run from the higher ground down to the bay, crossing the coastal road and dividing the town's barangays.

Koteā ko Pilar
Pilar holds meaning for Filipino families, veterans' descendants and visitors who have climbed Mount Samat. A map of the town brings the coast, the mountain and the memorial together in one calm image for the wall.
Personalise the title and subtitle, perhaps with a date of remembrance or a family name, and edit the coordinates. Choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. The $9 download includes six sizes, and printed posters are available too.
