Pind Dadan Khan is a town in Jhelum District, in the north of Pakistan's Punjab. It sits on the flat land south of the Jhelum River, close to where the Salt Range rises sharply from the plain. On the map the town is a dense old core of narrow, irregular lanes, surrounded by fields and crossed by roads that lead toward the river and the hills.
The area has long been known for salt. The Khewra Salt Mine, one of the oldest and largest salt mines in the world, is a short distance away in the foothills.
