Te mapa
Plantation is a city in Broward County, just west of Fort Lauderdale, built after the Second World War on drained land at the edge of the Everglades. It was incorporated in 1953 and planned from the start as a residential community with generous lots. As a result, it looks noticeably greener and less dense than many of its neighbours.
From above, the city is a lattice of drainage canals and major east–west roads, with neighbourhoods of curving streets and cul-de-sacs fitted between them. Water is everywhere on the map. Narrow canals run behind back gardens and along roads, and small lakes sit inside housing tracts, breaking the grid into softer shapes.
A Plantation map poster shows this suburban pattern clearly, from the tidy rectangles of the main roads to the looping residential lanes inside them. The layout is quietly distinctive, shaped as much by water management as by planning. It looks especially good in styles that let the canals stand out against the land.
Drainage canals thread through the city, along streets and behind homes. They are essential in low, flat South Florida and give the map its fine-lined character, even in black and white.
Between the main roads, residential streets bend, loop and end in cul-de-sacs. The pattern contrasts neatly with the straight roads that frame each neighbourhood.
Wide east–west roads link Plantation to Fort Lauderdale and the coast. They cut clean horizontal lines across the poster and anchor the whole composition.

Koteā ko Plantation
People choose Plantation for the house they bought, the street where their children grew up, or the years they spent in South Florida. The canals and curving streets make a map that is both personal and good to look at.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line, for example with a family name and move-in date, and pick one of five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Blueprint suits the canal-rich layout especially well.
