Te mapa
Pompéia lies in the Alta Paulista region of western São Paulo state, on the gently undulating plateau that stretches toward the Paraná River. Its map follows the pattern of many towns founded in this part of Brazil in the early twentieth century. A regular grid of blocks lines up with a main axis, and straight rural roads lead away through the farmland.
The town grew with the westward expansion of agriculture and the railway. It is known as the home of Jacto, the agricultural machinery company founded by Japanese immigrant Shunji Nishimura. That connection reflects the strong Japanese-Brazilian presence in this region, which is still part of local life today.
A Pompéia map poster has a quiet, rational clarity: square blocks, straight streets, a clear edge where the town ends and the fields begin. It is the kind of place where the map looks as orderly as the plan behind it, which makes it well suited to minimalist style.
The town is laid out in near-square blocks set on a consistent grid. It is one of the clearest and most even patterns on the poster.
The grid ends sharply where the fields begin, giving the built area a crisp outline against the surrounding open land.
Long rural roads leave the town and run across the plateau between large fields, forming thin lines that reach toward the edges of the map.
