Prosper is a town north of Dallas, stretching across parts of Collin and Denton counties. From above, it is made up of large, planned neighbourhoods. The curving streets and cul-de-sacs sit within a framework of straight, wide arterial roads that follow the old grid of section lines across the prairie.
For most of its history, Prosper was a small farming community. In recent decades it has become one of the fastest-growing towns in the Dallas–Fort Worth region, as the Dallas North Tollway and other roads pushed development north. The map still shows open land waiting at the edges.

Curving subdivisions

The tollway runs north through the area and has driven much of its growth. On the map it is a strong line connecting the town to Dallas.
