Te mapa
Puerto Cabello lies on Venezuela's Caribbean coast in Carabobo state and is the country's most important port. Its map is dominated by water: a sheltered bay, long docks and quays, and a narrow strip of land between the sea and the steep slopes of the coastal mountain range.
The historic centre sits on a small peninsula, with narrow colonial streets and brightly painted houses. Across the channel stands the Castillo San Felipe, also known as Castillo Libertador, an eighteenth-century fortress built to guard the harbour. On a hill above the town, the Fortín Solano offers views over the bay.
A Puerto Cabello map poster captures the tight relationship between old town, port and coast. The quays and container yards appear as broad, geometric shapes, while the colonial streets form a finer, older pattern at the water's edge.
The old town occupies a small peninsula by the harbour, its short, narrow streets forming a compact grid that stands out clearly against the surrounding water.
The Castillo San Felipe sits across the channel from the old town, a small angular shape on the water that has guarded the port since colonial times.
Long docks, piers and container yards line the bay, drawn as bold rectilinear forms that show the scale of Venezuela's main maritime gateway.
