Te mapa
Puerto Natales lies in southern Chilean Patagonia, on the eastern shore of Última Esperanza Sound. The town is built on a simple grid that runs down to the waterfront, where a long coastal avenue follows the shoreline. From above, the orderly streets contrast sharply with the wide expanse of water, and snow-capped peaks rise on the far side of the sound.
The town is best known as the main gateway to Torres del Paine National Park, and many visitors pass through on their way to the park's granite towers and trails. Nearby lies the Cueva del Milodón, a cave where remains of a giant ground sloth were found. The cave is linked to Bruce Chatwin's book In Patagonia.
The map captures the town's position between steppe and sea. Streets end abruptly at the water, while roads lead inland across open land toward the mountains. A Puerto Natales map poster draws that meeting of grid and coastline in clean lines, a precise image of a small town at the edge of a vast landscape.

The long body of water fills much of the map. Its broad, curving shoreline creates a strong horizontal edge and a sense of openness.
Routes heading north from town lead toward Torres del Paine, drawing long lines across the steppe away from the waterfront and the town's grid.

Koteā ko Puerto Natales
Many people who hang a Puerto Natales map have hiked in Torres del Paine and spent a night or two in town before or after. The poster is a quiet record of that journey, and it fits just as well for someone from southern Chile living far from the sound.
