Qormi Map Poster & Print
Qormi lies in the middle of Malta, inland from the head of Grand Harbour near Marsa. Its old core is one of the densest on the island: a maze of narrow, winding streets and small squares around the parish church of St George. Newer quarters with straighter streets surround it, and main roads cross the town toward Valletta and the south.
The town has a long association with bread-making, and many of Malta's traditional bakeries have been based here. In the eighteenth century, Grand Master Manuel Pinto de Fonseca gave Qormi the title Città Pinto, a name still used locally.

Grand Master Pinto granted Qormi city status in the eighteenth century, and the name Città Pinto is still part of its identity.
