Te mapa
Rangel is one of the urban districts of Luanda, the capital of Angola, located a short distance inland from the historic centre and the curve of Luanda Bay. On a map it appears as a tightly packed area of small streets and blocks, with few large open spaces. Main avenues run through it and link it with neighbouring districts on every side.
Like much of Luanda, Rangel grew quickly as people moved into the capital during and after the long civil war, and its housing reflects that history: formal streets sit alongside dense informal neighbourhoods built up block by block. It is a residential and commercial part of the city, shaped by local markets, schools and churches rather than large landmarks.
A Rangel map poster focuses on the texture of the capital close to its heart. Framed wider, the composition can take in the bay, the Ilha de Luanda and the port, but at district scale it becomes a study of density, where fine lines and small shapes build an intricate, almost woven surface.
Short streets and narrow lanes fill most of the district, creating a dense, finely detailed pattern that shows the character of central Luanda.
Wider avenues cut through Rangel toward the city centre and outer districts, forming the main lines that give the dense map its structure.
The district lies a short distance from Luanda Bay, so a wider frame can include the shoreline, the port and the long sand spit of the Ilha.

For people from Rangel, whether they still live there or have moved elsewhere in Luanda, Angola or abroad, a map of the district is a way to keep familiar streets in view. The dense pattern also makes a strong graphic piece on its own.
Title it with the district name or your family name, add a subtitle and a date, and set the coordinates line. Choose from Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. Printed posters ship from partners in 30+ countries, or download the $9 HD files to print locally.
