Te mapa
Rezh grew up on the eastern side of the Middle Urals in the late eighteenth century, around an ironworks built on the river that gave the town its name. Like many Urals factory towns, its layout began with a dam: the river was held back to power the works, creating a pond that still anchors the centre of the map.
From above, the town follows the river as it winds through a landscape of forest and low hills. Older neighbourhoods of wooden houses sit in long, regular blocks near the water, while Soviet-era districts with larger apartment buildings fill the higher ground. Rail and road lines cross the river and tie the town to Yekaterinburg to the southwest.
A Rezh map poster shows a town whose shape still reflects its industrial origins. The surrounding district is also known for its gemstones and minerals, with a nature reserve nearby dedicated to protecting that geological heritage, a reminder that the ground beneath these streets has long been part of the town's identity.
A widened stretch of the Rezh River, formed by the old ironworks dam, creates a broad pale shape at the heart of the map around which the historic town is arranged.
The river curves through the town in loose bends, dividing it into distinct districts and drawing a strong, flowing line across the composition.
Neighbourhoods of private houses sit on long, orderly plots, producing a fine repeated texture that contrasts with the larger footprints of the apartment districts.

Koteā ko Rezh
Rezh suits anyone connected to the Urals and its factory towns, where the river, the dam and the works explain the whole layout. The balance of water, forest edge and street grid makes a calm, legible print.
You can add your own title and subtitle, a family date or a note, and a coordinates line. Choose from Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand, depending on the room and the frame.
