Te mapa
Samch’ŏn is a county town in South Hwanghae Province, in the southwest of North Korea. The province is one of the country's main farming regions, and the map reflects that setting. A compact settlement of streets and buildings sits within broad agricultural land and low hills, with roads and channels linking it to the villages around it.
The poster renders the town from open map data, showing the main roads, the built-up blocks and the surrounding pattern of fields and water. The result is spare and uncluttered: a few strong lines cross wide open ground, which feels very different from a dense capital or a large industrial port.
South Hwanghae reaches the Yellow Sea, and much of its landscape is level farmland shaped by irrigation. A Samch’ŏn map poster is a quiet portrait of that kind of place. It is less about monuments than about the everyday structure of a rural town and the land around it, drawn in careful, balanced lines.
The built-up area forms a small, dense cluster of blocks and streets at the centre of the frame, clearly set apart from the open land around it.
Wide areas of cultivated land surround the town, giving the poster generous open space and the calm, horizontal character typical of South Hwanghae.
Straight roads and irrigation lines cross the countryside, linking the town to nearby villages and adding a few strong strokes to an otherwise spare composition.

Koteā ko Samch’ŏn
A map of Samch’ŏn may appeal to people with family roots in the Hwanghae region, to researchers and to collectors of unusual places. Its spare, open layout makes it an understated piece rather than a busy city print.
The title, subtitle and coordinates line can all be personalised, for example with a family name or a meaningful date. Choose from five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand, to suit the room and the quiet mood of the map.
