Te mapa
Ŭllyul is a county in South Hwanghae Province, on the western side of North Korea facing the Yellow Sea. The terrain combines low hills and cultivated valleys with a coastline broken into inlets and tidal flats. From above, the county seat is a modest cluster of streets, with roads threading along the valleys to villages and down toward the sea.
Detailed mapping of North Korea is limited, and the lines that do exist are sparse compared with most places. That sparseness has its own appeal, because the roads, rivers and shoreline stand out cleanly against a largely empty page. An Ŭllyul map poster presents the area as a minimal composition of a few essential routes and the edge of the land.
The Hwanghae region is one of the country's main agricultural areas, with rice paddies across its lowlands. Along the coast, the tidal flats of the Yellow Sea are extensive, so the shoreline can look quite different depending on the map data. In black and white the result is quiet and austere, focused on form rather than detail.
An irregular coastline of small bays and headlands borders the county to the west and gives the map its most defined natural edge.
Roads follow the valleys between low hills, linking the county seat to the surrounding villages in a loose, branching pattern.
Street-level data is limited here, so the map is spare and open, with a few strong lines instead of dense urban texture.
