Te mapa
Sant Joan Despí lies in the Baix Llobregat, just west of Barcelona, on the left bank of the Llobregat river. From above, it forms a compact urban patch squeezed between neighbouring municipalities on one side and the broad, flat river corridor on the other. The river and its surrounding green and agricultural land give the western side of the map a calm, open edge.
The town's streets are a mix of older lanes around the historic centre and more regular blocks from later growth. The Trambaix tram line runs through, and major roads and rail infrastructure trace strong lines across the area. Sports grounds are clearly visible among the blocks, including FC Barcelona's training complex, the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper, which sits within the municipality.
Architecturally, the town is linked to Josep Maria Jujol, Gaudí's collaborator, who designed several buildings here, including the Torre de la Creu. A Sant Joan Despí map poster shows the place rather than its landmarks: a dense, lived-in town where metropolitan Barcelona meets the Llobregat, drawn at a scale where every block and every bend of the river is legible.
The wide river valley runs along the western side, a band of water, green space and fields that contrasts with the dense streets to the east.
FC Barcelona's training complex sits within the municipality, its row of pitches forming clean rectangles that stand out clearly on the map.
The Trambaix and main roads cut long, steady lines through the town, tying it into the wider metropolitan network of Barcelona.
