Te mapa
Sāsvad is a town in Pune district of Maharashtra and the headquarters of Purandar taluka, southeast of Pune beyond the Dive Ghat. On the map the Karha river curves past the town, and the older lanes cluster densely near its banks. Roads lead out across the dry, rolling Deccan countryside toward the hills and fort of Purandar.
The town holds a special place in the Warkari tradition. It has the samadhi of Sant Sopandev, brother of Sant Dnyaneshwar, and the yearly palkhi procession to Pandharpur passes through Sāsvad after crossing the ghat from Pune. The town is also linked with the first Peshwa, Balaji Vishwanath, whose samadhi is here.
A Sāsvad map poster records these layers in a spare, readable form. The river gives the composition its main curve, and the old town forms a tight knot of streets. The highways to Pune and the surrounding villages stretch outward like spokes. It is a print with meaning for pilgrims, local families and anyone with roots in Purandar.
The Karha flows past the town in a gentle curve, with temples near its banks. It is the only major water feature on the map and anchors the whole composition.
Near the river the streets are narrow and closely packed. They form a dense, irregular core that contrasts with the newer, more open building on the edges.
The main road toward Pune climbs through the Dive Ghat, the same route the palkhi takes. It reads as a strong line leading out of the frame.

Koteā ko Sāsvad
Many people know Sāsvad through the Wari, from walking with the palkhi or welcoming it each year. Others have family roots in Purandar. A map poster of the town becomes a quiet devotional or family object, at home in Pune, Mumbai or overseas.
You can write your own title and subtitle, perhaps the year of a pilgrimage, and adjust the coordinates line. Choose from five styles, including the warm Paper and Sand. Then download the $9 HD files or order a matte print with an optional wooden frame.
