Te mapa
Serilingampalle sits on the western edge of Greater Hyderabad, where the city has grown fastest over the past three decades. Seen from above, older village cores with tight, irregular lanes are surrounded by broad new roads, gated residential blocks and large office campuses. The ground beneath is the Deccan plateau, and granite outcrops and small lakes still break up the built fabric in places.
The area is closely tied to Hyderabad's information technology corridor, and the districts around it host many software and services firms. The large, green expanse of the University of Hyderabad campus reads on a map as an open, lightly marked zone against the denser grid of apartments and commercial parks that has grown up around it.
A Serilingampalle map poster captures a place in transition: fragments of village street patterns, the loops and interchanges of fast roads, and the pale open spaces of campuses and water bodies. In black and white, the contrast between planned superblocks and older organic lanes becomes the main subject, a record of how quickly a city edge can be redrawn.
The University of Hyderabad occupies a wide, largely open tract with scattered buildings and rocky scrubland, forming one of the largest quiet spaces on this part of the map.
Broad multi-lane roads and flyovers link the district to the rest of Hyderabad and the Outer Ring Road, drawing strong, sweeping lines between the blocks of offices and housing.
Small lakes, known locally as cheruvu, and exposed granite boulders survive between developments, leaving irregular blank shapes that break up the otherwise dense street pattern.
