Shushary lies on the southern edge of St. Petersburg, in the Pushkinsky district, between the city's high-rise suburbs and the countryside toward Pushkin. On a map it is a place in transition: new residential areas with large blocks of flats, extensive warehouse and industrial zones, and fields that are gradually being built over.
