Te mapa
Slagelse is one of the oldest market towns in Denmark, set in the farmland of western Zealand. From above, the old centre forms a compact core of narrow streets around St. Michael's Church, with ring roads and newer districts wrapping around it. Beyond them, the map opens into fields, woods and small villages.
A few kilometres to the west lies Trelleborg, one of the Viking-age ring fortresses built around the late tenth century. Its perfectly circular rampart remains visible in the landscape and is a striking geometric shape even on a simple map. Slagelse itself grew as a trading and administrative centre, and today it is a transport hub on the line between Copenhagen and Funen.
A Slagelse map poster brings together the medieval centre, the modern rings and the surrounding countryside. The layout reads clearly from centre to edge, with main roads radiating outward. It suits people from the town, students at its institutions and anyone who enjoys maps that hint at a long history.

The Viking ring fortress just west of town has a perfectly circular rampart, one of the most distinctive shapes in Danish archaeology.
Ring roads encircle the town and main routes radiate outward, giving the map a clear, readable structure from the centre outward.
