Te mapa
Sorriso lies in central Mato Grosso, on BR-163, the highway that crosses Brazil's agricultural interior from south to north. It became an independent municipality in 1986, and its layout shows how new it is. The planned streets are wide and straight, and the blocks are regular, with space to grow in every direction.
The city is widely known as one of Brazil's largest producers of soybeans, and the landscape around it makes that clear. Enormous fields spread across the flat plateau in large rectangles, separated by straight roads and thin strips of remaining woodland along the watercourses.
A Sorriso map poster sets a tidy urban grid against the huge scale of modern farming. The highway runs straight through, grain storage and processing sites line its sides, and the surrounding fields turn the countryside into a grid of its own, just much larger.
The federal highway runs straight past the city and forms its main axis, with warehouses and grain facilities lined up along both sides.
The urban area is laid out in wide, regular blocks and straight streets, a clear sign of a city planned and built within the last few decades.
Around the city, huge rectangular soybean fields cover the plateau, a vast geometric pattern cut only by roads and narrow bands of trees.

Koteā ko Sorriso
For families who helped build Sorriso, or work its fields, the map records a city that grew in one or two generations out of open land. It is a proud, orderly composition for a home, an office or the headquarters of a farm business.
The title, subtitle and coordinates can be personalised, for example with a farm name or the year you arrived. Choose from five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. HD files cost $9, and printed posters are also available.
