Stróvolos Map Poster & Print
Stróvolos is the second-largest municipality in Cyprus and lies to the south-west of Nicosia's walled old city. The map shows it as a broad, low-rise suburb. Winding residential streets, cul-de-sacs and main avenues run outward from the capital toward the open plain.
Most of its development came in the second half of the twentieth century, and the street pattern reflects that era. Instead of one historic centre there are several neighbourhood cores, each built around a parish church or square and linked by arterial roads. Seasonal riverbeds, typical of the island, cut through the suburbs as green strips that are easy to pick out from above.
