Te mapa
Sumbe is the capital of Cuanza Sul province, on Angola's Atlantic coast south of Luanda. Known as Novo Redondo in the colonial period, it appears on the map as a compact town pressed between the shoreline and the higher ground inland, its denser streets close to the sea before thinning out into scattered neighbourhoods and open land.
The coast here is long and relatively straight, and the main coastal highway runs through the area on its way between the capital and the south. That road gives the map a clear line, and much of the town's newer growth has followed it rather than spreading far inland, so the settlement reads as a band parallel to the ocean.
As a provincial capital, Sumbe holds government offices and schools, while the wider province is known for fishing along the coast and farming, including coffee, on its higher ground. A Sumbe map poster keeps things simple: the edge of the Atlantic, the town's streets and the roads leading out, drawn in clean lines.
The coastline forms the town's western boundary, a long clean line of water that gives the poster its main structure and a strong sense of place.
The main road along the coast passes through the area, a firm line on the map that links Sumbe with Luanda to the north and Benguela to the south.
The densest streets gather near the shore, where the older colonial-era layout meets later growth, before giving way to looser neighbourhoods and open ground inland.

Koteā ko Sumbe
Sumbe is home for many families from Cuanza Sul, and for others it is a stop on the long coastal journey south of Luanda. A map of the town and its shoreline is a calm, graphic reminder of where someone was born, worked or spent time by the sea.
Personalise the title and subtitle, perhaps adding the old name Novo Redondo, and adjust the coordinates line. Choose from Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand, then download the $9 HD files in six print sizes or order a printed poster with an optional frame.
