Te mapa
Navegantes lies in Benguela province, on Angola's Atlantic coast, in the urban area around the city of Benguela. The coastline here is long and fairly straight, and it forms the western edge of the map. Behind the beach, the land is low and dry, and the streets spread inland from the shore in a mix of planned blocks and more informal neighbourhoods.
From above, the contrast between the areas is clear. Older sections have straighter streets and more regular blocks, while newer areas have grown in a looser, denser pattern of lanes and small plots. Main roads connect the district to the centre of Benguela and to the coastal route north toward Lobito and its port.
This part of the coast has a long history as a trading centre, and the region is known for the Benguela Railway, which runs inland from the coast. A Navegantes map poster focuses on the local geography: the Atlantic shoreline, the patterns of the streets behind it and the roads that link the district to the rest of the city.
A long, smooth stretch of coast forms the western edge of the map, where the city meets the open Atlantic Ocean.
More regular planned blocks sit alongside denser, informal neighbourhoods, giving the district a varied texture when seen from above.
Main roads connect Navegantes to central Benguela and run along the coast toward Lobito, forming the strongest lines on the map.
