Parallel streams
Rivers and streams run off the Aberdares in a regular, roughly parallel pattern. They give the map a combed texture that is unusual and quietly striking.

Te mapa
Tetu is a constituency in Nyeri County, on the eastern foothills of the Aberdare Range, just west of Nyeri town. From above, it looks nothing like a compact city. It is ridge-and-valley country, with streams running downhill from the forested Aberdares and roads following the ridgelines between them. Small market centres sit where the routes meet.
This is the settled farmland of Kenya's central highlands. Tea and coffee grow on the slopes, with smallholdings dividing the land into narrow parcels. The streams run roughly parallel to one another, so the map has a distinct grain. On clear days, Mount Kenya stands on the horizon across the valley to the east.
A Tetu map poster shows a landscape defined by water and slope. It has a series of winding roads, fine stream lines and scattered clusters of streets. It suits anyone with family in the Nyeri highlands who wants the shape of home rather than a picture postcard.
Rivers and streams run off the Aberdares in a regular, roughly parallel pattern. They give the map a combed texture that is unusual and quietly striking.
Roads follow the ridges between valleys, curving with the terrain instead of a grid. Their long, sinuous lines tie the scattered centres together.
Trading centres appear as compact knots of streets where roads converge. They are small but clear points of density on the poster.

Koteā ko Tetu
Many Kenyans in Nairobi and abroad trace their families to the Nyeri highlands. A Tetu map, personalised with a family name, a home village as the subtitle or a date, turns that connection into something to hang on the wall.
The organic stream lines look especially good in Paper and Sand, and Noir makes them glow against a dark background. Classic black & white and Blueprint are also available. Every order includes a free 900 px watermarked preview first.
