Te mapa
Tibagi lies in the Campos Gerais of Paraná, a region of rolling grassland, plateaus and river gorges in the centre of the state. The town stands on the Tibagi River, which gives it its name, and its early growth was tied to diamond and gold prospecting along the river. Its compact centre still sits close to the water.
On a Tibagi map poster the river is the dominant feature, a broad, curving line between the town and the countryside on the opposite bank. The streets form a modest grid on the higher ground above the river. Roads leave the centre across open land and follow the ridges between the valleys that cut into the plateau.
Not far from town, the Iapó River, a tributary of the Tibagi, has carved the Guartelá canyon, one of the largest in Brazil. It is now a state park with waterfalls, rock formations and ancient rock paintings. On a wider map the gorge shows as a tight, deeply winding course through the plateau, a dramatic natural line in an otherwise quiet rural setting.
The river flows past the town in wide curves, its banks marked by strips of vegetation, and forms the natural anchor for the whole composition of the poster.
Carved by the Iapó River, a tributary of the Tibagi, the deep gorge is protected as a state park and appears on a wider map as a tight series of dramatic bends.
Roads leave the town along ridges across the open grassland, and their long, gently bending lines give the print a sense of the wide plateau landscape.
