Te mapa
Tupi lies in the province of South Cotabato on the island of Mindanao, spread across the gentle lower slopes of Mount Matutum. The national highway linking Koronadal and General Santos passes through the town, and much of the built-up area has grown along it. From above, a compact poblacion gives way quickly to farmland and rural barangays.
The surrounding land is dominated by large pineapple plantations, whose rectangular fields and access roads produce a distinct pattern around the town. Closer to the centre, streets form small, fairly regular blocks with public buildings, a market and churches gathered near the highway. Streams run down from the mountain and cut shallow lines across the landscape.
Mount Matutum itself, a volcano rising to the east of the town, is a protected landscape and a constant presence on the horizon. A Tupi map poster captures the town's relationship to that mountain and to the fields around it, a simple and honest portrait of a farming community at the foot of a volcano.
The main road between Koronadal and General Santos runs straight through Tupi, a firm line along which the market and public buildings are arranged.
The town centre forms a small grid of blocks near the highway, dense enough to read clearly against the open farmland that surrounds it.
To the east the ground rises toward Mount Matutum, and roads thin into tracks and streams that trace the gradual climb toward the volcano.

Koteā ko Tupi
For families from Tupi working in Manila, overseas or elsewhere in Mindanao, a map of the home town is a steady reminder of the mountain, the fields and the people left behind. It also makes a considered gift for a homecoming.
You can set the title, add a subtitle such as the barangay you grew up in, and include a date. Then choose one of five styles, Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand, depending on the room and the mood you want.
