Te mapa
Union City lies in southern Alameda County, between Hayward to the north and Fremont to the south, on the flat land that slopes from the East Bay hills toward San Francisco Bay. Its map is a suburban one: curving residential streets and cul-de-sacs, long arterials, rail corridors and the Interstate 880 freeway along its western side.
The city was incorporated in 1959 by joining two older communities, Alvarado near the bay and Decoto closer to the hills, and traces of both remain in the street pattern. Along the southern edge, Alameda Creek runs in a straight engineered flood channel, now paired with a regional trail that leads west toward the bay.
A Union City map poster makes sense of a place that can feel like a string of neighbourhoods from the ground. Seen from above, the older grids of Alvarado and Decoto, the loops of later housing, the rail lines and the slope of the hills fit together into one clear, balanced composition.
The creek's straightened flood channel runs along the south of the city like a ruled line, with the trail beside it heading out toward the bay shore.
Alvarado and Decoto each keep a small grid of older streets, easy to spot among the wider loops and cul-de-sacs of postwar housing.
East of the city the land lifts into open East Bay hills, where the street pattern stops and a few roads climb into grassland.

Koteā ko Union City
Union City is where many Bay Area families put down roots, often in their first home. A map of the neighbourhood, with the street you lived on somewhere in the grid, is a personal way to remember that chapter.
Set the title, subtitle and coordinates line to anything you like, such as a family name and the year you moved in, and choose from five styles including Noir and Blueprint. The $9 files include 18×24″ and 24×36″ as 300 DPI PNG and PDF.
