Te mapa
Ushuaia stretches along the northern shore of the Beagle Channel on Tierra del Fuego, often described as the southernmost city in the world. Its map is framed by two strong edges: the water to the south and the Martial mountains rising directly behind the town to the north. Between them, a regular street grid climbs the slope in narrow terraces.
The waterfront is dominated by the port, where ships leave for Antarctica and cruises through the channel, and the bay's curved shoreline gives the lower town its shape. A peninsula holding the airport juts out into the water, adding a distinctive silhouette. Higher up, the streets become more irregular as they meet the steep, forested hillside.
Ushuaia began as a penal colony, and the former prison, now a museum, still stands in the town. A Ushuaia map poster turns this dramatic setting into clean lines: the coastline and channel, the grid pressed between water and mountain, and the long road leading away along the shore towards the rest of Argentina.
The curved bay and the channel form the southern edge of the city, a smooth coastline that gives the map its strongest outline.
A narrow spit of land extends into the water, carrying the runway, and creates a striking shape against the open channel on the map.
Streets rise in tight parallel rows from the waterfront towards the mountains, then break into winding roads where the terrain becomes too steep.

Koteā ko Ushuaia
Ushuaia is often the high point of a long journey, whether a trip to Patagonia or a departure for Antarctica. A map of the town keeps that sense of distance and arrival on the wall long after the expedition has ended.
