Te mapa
Wazirabad lies in northern Punjab, just south of the Chenab River as it crosses the plain. From above, the town gathers around a dense older centre of narrow, irregular lanes, and newer streets spread outward along the main roads. Beyond them the map opens into a flat quilt of fields and irrigation channels that reaches almost to the riverbanks.
The town takes its name from Wazir Khan, the Mughal-era governor associated with its founding in the seventeenth century. It has long been known across Pakistan for its cutlery and bladed metalwork. Its position has always mattered: the Grand Trunk Road passes through, and the railway divides here, with the main line continuing between Lahore and Rawalpindi and a branch heading to Sialkot.
A Wazirabad map poster brings these layers together on one sheet: the knotted lanes of the old bazaar area, the straight stroke of the highway, the curving rail lines and the broad channel of the Chenab to the north. In monochrome, the contrast between the tightly built town and the open river country around it is especially clear.
The Chenab runs wide and braided just north of town and is crossed by road and rail bridges. Its sandbars and channels form the strongest natural shape on the map.
Rail lines meet and split at Wazirabad, with one branch leaving for Sialkot, so the station area appears as a fan of tracks at the edge of the centre.
The historic core is a dense tangle of narrow streets and small plots. The pattern was set long before cars and contrasts with the straighter roads of later growth.

Koteā ko Wazirabad
For families from Wazirabad, and for the many who have moved from Punjab to cities abroad, the map is a precise reminder of home: the road to the station, the family's neighbourhood, the river beyond the fields. It suits a study, a shop or a living room equally well.
