Te mapa
Yalutorovsk stands on the Tobol River in the south of Tyumen Oblast and is one of the older Russian settlements in western Siberia, founded in 1659. On the map the town occupies higher ground above the river's wide floodplain, where the Tobol winds in loops and leaves behind oxbow lakes, a pattern of curves that frames the regular streets of the centre.
The street plan is largely a grid of long blocks lined with low wooden and brick houses, typical of Siberian district towns. The railway between Tyumen and Omsk passes through, its straight line cutting across the plan and anchoring an industrial area around the station, while roads fan out towards the surrounding villages.
In the nineteenth century Yalutorovsk became a place of exile for several Decembrists, among them Ivan Pushchin and Ivan Yakushkin, who opened schools in the town. A museum complex dedicated to them now preserves houses from that period. A Yalutorovsk map poster places that history within a clear frame of river, grid and rail.
The river bends widely below the town, with meanders and oxbow lakes drawing loose curves that contrast with the straight streets above.
The centre is laid out in regular rectangular blocks, a plan that reads clearly and calmly on a black and white print.
The Tyumen to Omsk line crosses the town in one straight stroke, with sidings and depots gathered around the station.

Koteā ko Yalutorovsk
Yalutorovsk is small, but it carries the weight of Siberian history, and for those who grew up there or have family roots in the region, a map is a quiet way to keep that connection close.
