Highway spine
The national highway runs past the town in a long straight stroke. Next to the irregular lanes of the old core, it is the clearest line on the poster.

Te mapa
Zahir Pir lies in Rahim Yar Khan district in the south of Pakistan's Punjab, where the Indus plain is almost completely flat. On the map the town is a dense core of narrow lanes, with a looser spread of newer streets around it. The countryside beyond is a quilt of field boundaries and irrigation channels.
The national highway linking Punjab with Sindh runs past the town, giving it a strong straight line that the rest of the plan lines up with. Rail and road run roughly parallel through this part of the province, and the town's growth has followed those routes rather than a planned grid.
The town is named after a saint, and like many places in this region it grew as a local trading centre for a large farming hinterland of cotton, wheat and sugarcane. A Zahir Pir map poster keeps the dense older lanes and the straight lines of the highway and canals together in one frame.
The national highway runs past the town in a long straight stroke. Next to the irregular lanes of the old core, it is the clearest line on the poster.
The oldest part of town is a tight mesh of short, crooked streets. In print it becomes the darkest patch of the map.
Irrigation channels and field edges surround the town in long straight lines, a geometric pattern typical of the canal colonies of Punjab.

Koteā ko Zahir Pir
A map of Zahir Pir is for people who know the place from the inside: those who grew up there, moved away, or still go back for family visits. It records the town as it really is, without any postcard version of it.
The title, subtitle and coordinates can all be changed, so the poster can name a family home, a wedding year or simply the town. There are five styles to choose from: Classic black and white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand.
