Te mapa
Zapopan shares a continuous urban area with Guadalajara, its larger neighbour to the east. The shared boundary runs through built-up blocks, so on the map there is no visible gap between the two. The Periférico ring road curves through the municipality, and long avenues run outward from the older core. Towards the north the land drops into the deep ravines of the Santiago River canyon.
The historic centre grew up around the Basilica of Zapopan, home to the venerated image of the Virgin of Zapopan. Every October a large pilgrimage carries the image back here from Guadalajara. Further west are newer districts with shopping centres, gated neighbourhoods and the Estadio Akron, home stadium of the Chivas football club.
On a Zapopan map poster, the contrast between these zones is easy to read. The small, tight blocks around the basilica give way to looping suburban streets and cul-de-sacs. Out on the western edge, the Bosque La Primavera forest leaves a wide blank space on the map, where the street network simply stops.

The old centre is a small, regular pattern of streets around the basilica and its plaza. It is the historic heart of the municipality.
The protected Bosque La Primavera forest leaves a large open area to the west. On paper it becomes a calm expanse of empty space beside the dense grid.

Koteā ko Zapopan
Some people know Zapopan from match days. Others know it from the October pilgrimage or from years spent in one of its neighbourhoods. A print of the city holds all of those in a single frame, including the streets you walked most often.
Add your own title, a subtitle such as a date or neighbourhood name, and a coordinates line. Then pick one of five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand.
