Te mapa
Zeghanghane is a town in the Oriental region of northeastern Morocco, a short distance west of Nador. It lies in hilly terrain at the eastern end of the Rif, and its streets reflect that setting: dense residential blocks fill the lower ground, while roads twist and fork as they reach the higher slopes. The town forms part of the wider urban area that has grown around Nador.
This is Amazigh country, and Tarifit is widely spoken alongside Arabic. Many families in the Nador area have close ties to Europe, especially Spain, the Netherlands and Belgium, through generations of emigration, and that connection shapes the rhythm of the town, particularly in summer. The Mediterranean coast and the Marchica lagoon lie within easy reach.
A Zeghanghane map poster shows how a growing town fits itself onto uneven terrain. Tight clusters of streets alternate with open hillside, and the main roads toward Nador and the surrounding villages give the composition its structure. In a single colour the pattern becomes an intricate texture, dense in some places and open in others.
As the land rises, streets bend and branch irregularly, producing a fine, uneven texture that contrasts with the denser, more regular blocks on the lower ground.
The main road linking Zeghanghane with Nador is a strong line in the frame, tying the town to the larger city and to the coast beyond it.
Unbuilt hillside and ravines around the town leave clear spaces in the map, giving the settled areas a sharply defined and irregular outline.
