Te mapa
Zimnicea sits on the left bank of the Danube in Teleorman County, where the river marks the border with Bulgaria. From above, the town is a compact patch of streets on open, level ground. The Danube runs past its southern side as a broad, slow band, and the town of Svishtov lies on the far bank.
The land around Zimnicea belongs to the Romanian Plain, so there are few hills or valleys to bend the streets. The map shows a fairly regular pattern of blocks, with longer roads heading north across farmland. Near the river, the edge of the town gives way to flat riverside land, channels and floodplain that follow the curve of the water.
Zimnicea is often named as Romania's southernmost town. The crossing here has mattered for a long time, and in 1877 Russian forces crossed the Danube between Zimnicea and Svishtov during the Russo-Turkish War. A Zimnicea map poster keeps things simple: a river border, a grid on the plain, and a town facing another country across the water.
The river runs along the town's southern side as a wide, steady band. On paper it reads as a strong horizontal line between Romania and Bulgaria.
Because the Romanian Plain is so flat, the streets settle into a fairly orderly pattern. Nothing pulls them off course, so the grid comes through clean and legible.
The Bulgarian town on the opposite bank fits naturally into the frame, so the poster shows two settlements facing each other across one of Europe's great rivers.

Koteā ko Zimnicea
People hang Zimnicea for the river. It might be a hometown, a family story on the Danube or a memory of the crossing. This map is mostly horizon and water, and it sits quietly on a wall.
You can change the title, subtitle and coordinates line, for example to add a year or a family name. There are five styles. Classic black and white and Noir suit the stark river line, and Blueprint and Sand give it a softer tone.
