Te mapa
Zliten sits on Libya's Mediterranean coast between Misrata and Khoms. On a map, the shoreline sets the town's shape. Built-up areas run parallel to the sea, and the coastal highway traces a long line just inland. Farther from the water, the street network loosens into a pattern of plots, tracks and scattered buildings typical of the agricultural belt along this coast.
The town is widely known for the zawiya and mosque of Sidi Abdussalam al-Asmar, a religious scholar whose shrine has drawn visitors for centuries. The area is also linked to Roman archaeology. The celebrated Zliten mosaics, found at a villa site nearby, are now among the best-known Roman floor mosaics from North Africa.
A Zliten map poster reduces all of this to its essentials: the clean arc of coast, the dense core, and the finer network that fades toward the interior. The sea stays empty on the page, and that open space gives the composition a calm, horizontal balance.
The coast forms the whole northern edge of the map, a long, gentle line that sets the direction of the town's growth.
The main road linking Tripoli and Misrata crosses the town as a strong east–west stroke, with local streets branching off it.
South of the centre the pattern turns rural. Small plots and tracks create a fine, textured grain that contrasts with the denser core.

Koteā ko Zliten
Zliten is a place of deep family and religious ties for many Libyans at home and abroad. A plain map of the coast and streets can quietly mark that connection without saying too much.
